Nissan and INFINITI announce sales results for May, 2018 from regions and countries around the world

Nissan announced European sales for May of 50,818 vehicles (Nissan and Datsun), representing a market share of 3%. Sales in the UK totaled 9,151 vehicles, representing a market share of 4.3%.

In China, Nissan reported double-digit sales growth for its overall operations and the passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle businesses, respectively, in May as well as for the January-May period. Nissan China and its passenger vehicle businesses – Dongfeng Nissan and Dongfeng Venucia – boosted sales 14.3% from a year earlier to 128,059 vehicles and 15.2% to 106,445 vehicles, respectively. The light commercial vehicle business – Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (DFAC) and Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA) – sold 18,251 vehicles, representing an increase of 14.4%.

In the U.S., Nissan Group announced total U.S. sales for May 2018 of 131,832 units, a decrease of 4% compared to the previous year. Overall sales of Nissan crossovers, trucks and SUVs set a May record, up 4%. Sales of the Rogue crossover set a May record with sales of 38,413 units, up 18%. Nissan LEAF all-electric vehicle sales increased 13% to 1,576 units. In its second full month at INFINITI retailers, the all-new 2019 QX50 luxury crossover, powered with the world's first variable compression engine, was up more than 51 percent, contributing to its best May with 1,859 deliveries. 

In Canada, Nissan Group announced total Canadian sales of 14,180 units for May 2018, an increase of 1.7% and a May record. The Nissan Division also set a May sales record with 13,236 units sold, an increase of 3.2% year-over-year. The INFINITI Division sold 944 vehicles.
