NISSAN REVEALS SECOND MODEL FROM NEW FAMILY OF GLOBAL CARS

TOKYO (April 5, 2007) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced its plans to unveil a second variant from its new family of global cars during Auto Shanghai 2007 from April 22 to 28 2007.

Called the Livina, sales of this model are expected to start in China late April, then progressively into other global markets.

“In July 2006, Nissan announced plans to introduce a series of new cars for our key global markets, with a sales forecast of 200,000 units per year. This new family of global cars represents a substantial investment for Nissan,” said Nissan's executive vice president Carlos Tavares. “We expect the Livina, our second new model in this family, to make a significant contribution to our business globally as it is expected to become a high-volume model,“ he continued.

Nissan launched the first model from this new global car family - the Livina Geniss - in China in November last year.

Based on the product concept of 'active and high quality', the Livina was engineered to deliver a high-level of agility and ride comfort, with the most spacious interior for a vehicle in its class. The exterior features a stylishly bold and elegant design while the well equipped interior features a clean, refined finish.

Like the other variants in this family of global cars, the Livina has been designed and engineered at the Nissan Technical Center in Atsugi, Japan and will be built on a shared Renault-Nissan Alliance platform.

In China, the Livina will be powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with the choice of a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmissions. The model will be manufactured at Dongfeng Motor Co.'s (DFL) Huadu plant in Guangzhou Province. DFL is a joint-venture between Nissan and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd in China.
