YOKOHAMA (August 18, 2010) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that orders for the all-new Elgrand launched on August 4, reached a total of 6,386 units as of August 18. The new-generation Elgrand is off to a very strong start, as these orders are more than three times greater than the monthly sales target of 1,900 units, The following is the breakdown of the initial orders:

The Elgrand has been highly acclaimed by a wide range of customers for its distinguished exterior styling with a strong presence, an interior that evokes a touch of high class and an uplifting feeling, a variety of well thought-out equipment for all passengers, and a high level of environmental performance that qualifies the car for preferential tax breaks in Japan. Notably, 45% of the customers selected the 3.5 liter engine, while the most popular exterior color was Phantom Black, making up 44%. Also, 84% selected the optional Carwings navigation system (HDD system) and among them, 64% added the rear-seat entertainment system with the 11-inch electronic retractable monitor.
