Nissan announces compensation for Dayz and Dayz Roox kei-car users

YOKOHAMA, Japan (June 23, 2016) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced a compensation plan today for users of Dayz and Dayz Roox kei-cars, in line with new fuel efficiency figures submitted to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

The plan is aimed to amply cover extra gasoline costs and possible refunds of tax credits incurred due to discrepancies between the vehicles’ original fuel economy figures and the updated figures. In addition, the compensation is intended to acknowledge the concern and inconvenience caused to users of these vehicles.

All Dayz and Dayz Roox users identified in individual vehicle registration documentation up to April 21, 2016 will be eligible for compensation as follows.

*Users who choose to purchase their vehicles will receive further compensation of 100,000 yen minus the number of contract years on completion of their residual value loan or lease.

In applicable cases, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will pay returns of tax incentives on behalf of vehicle users.

Users will be informed of detailed procedures for receiving compensation around the end of July.
