Nissan production, sales and exports for December 2017 and CY 2017

The new Nissan LEAF: MY2017

YOKOHAMA, Japan (Jan. 30, 2018) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced production, sales and export figures for December 2017 and calendar year 2017.

“2017 was our best-ever year for global sales and production,” said Executive Vice President Daniele Schillaci, global head of marketing and sales. “The Rogue series set an annual sales record in the U.S. In China, we also delivered a record year of sales, bolstered by demand for both the Nissan and Venucia brands. We launched the new Nissan LEAF in October. Nissan will build on this momentum to bring Nissan Intelligent Mobility experiences to more customers globally.”

 

1. Production

December

Nissan’s global production in December declined from a year earlier.

Production in Japan declined from a year earlier.

Production outside Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the sixth consecutive month, setting a record for the month of December. Production in China surpassed year-earlier results, setting a record for the single month.

Calendar year 2017

Nissan's global production in 2017 surpassed year-earlier results for the eighth consecutive year, setting a calendar-year record.

Production in Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the second consecutive year.

Production outside Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the eighth consecutive year, setting a calendar-year record.

Production in China surpassed year-earlier results, also setting a calendar-year record.

 

2. Sales

December

Global sales in December declined from a year earlier.

Sales including minivehicles in Japan declined from a year earlier.

Sales outside Japan declined from a year earlier.

Sales in China surpassed year-earlier results, setting a record for any single month.

Calendar year 2017

Global sales surpassed year-earlier results for the eighth consecutive year, setting a calendar-year record.

Sales including minivehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the first time in four years.

Sales outside Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the eighth consecutive year, setting a calendar-year record.

Sales in the U.S., Europe and China surpassed year-earlier levels, respectively, setting records for the January-December period.

 

3. Exports from Japan

December

Exports from Japan in December declined from a year earlier.

Calendar year 2017

Exports from Japan surpassed year-earlier results for the third consecutive year.
