MOSCOW – Datsun has opened a new street workout facility in the town of Sosnovy Bor in Russia's Leningrad Region, as part of the brand's ongoing campaign to promote health and well being through workout exercise.
Datsun launched an online competition last year titled "Within Just One Minute," inviting participants to post videos of themselves working out, and promising to set up a street workout facility in the winner's hometown. At the end of the contest, the winner was identified as a resident of Sosnovy Bor.
To celebrate the opening of the facility, Datsun organized a workout festival with competitions for workout professionals and visitors and training sessions for amateurs. Instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, the facility was inaugurated with the contest winner and VIPs using a gas torch to cut through a chain of the type commonly used in weight exercises.
