BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Nissan is presenting its full power in Buenos Aires: In addition to introducing the all-new Nissan Kicks to the local market, Nissan presents the global premiere of the Frontier Attack concept, a pickup inspired by the challenging terrains of Latin America, created and designed at Nissan Design Studio in Rio de Janeiro. Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan senior vice president and head of Global Design, presented the vehicles aimed to revolutionize the local Argentinean market.

With a larger stand, Nissan is presenting its entire range of vehicles to the public led by the all-new Nissan Kicks and three concept vehicles available in Argentina for the first time: the Frontier Attack, the Nissan EnGuard and the future of crossovers, the Nissan Gripz Concept.

With three new concept vehicles, a global premiere and a local launch, Nissan beats all its previous presentations and is more present than ever at the Buenos Aires Auto Show, underlining its commitment to Argentina. It is also getting ready to commence production of one of its most iconic vehicles in Cordoba in 2018, the NP300 Frontier, thereby incorporating Argentina into the global manufacturing network of the NP300 Frontier, which also includes Thailand, Mexico and Spain.

Nissan presented the Kicks Concept to the Argentinean market in 2015, a vehicle inspired by the Latin American way of life. The Nissan Kicks is now a reality, and visitors to the International Hall will be able to see the crossover that will revolutionize the Argentinean market.

Nissan Kicks is an innovative and challenging vehicle equipped with the latest technology that can handle day-to-day city driving. Inspired by the culture and vitality of the Latin American market, Nissan Kicks is the realization of the Kicks concept vehicle that was on display to the public in the Automobile Hall in Buenos Aires in June 2015, which marked the evolution of the Extrem concept vehicle.

It's a crossover that combines a robust exterior design and higher driving position with compactness and agile performance. With a dynamic and daring design, the Nissan Kicks has been designed for customers in large cities who lead a busy life and have to face the day-to-day challenges of the urban jungle.

It is one of the first Nissan vehicles to be designed based on the "Intelligent Mobility" concept. It incorporates a wide range of engineering, manufacturing and technological features that provide the perfect balance between performance and fuel consumption.

The Nissan Kicks is the first vehicle to be launched globally in Latin America. It was first presented in Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games and is now available throughout the entire region and is another example of how Nissan develops concept vehicles to exploit new design trends that are then realized and introduced to the market directly.

With its new compact crossover, Nissan is extending its range of crossovers to offer one of the broadest and most varied ranges in the region.

It will go on sale in July.

Frontier Attack Concept

The Nissan Frontier Attack will make its global debut in Buenos Aires. As was the case with the Kicks Concept in 2015, Nissan is seeking to capture the perception of Argentinean public with the new version of the popular NP300 Frontier that will soon be manufactured locally.

Two years ago, Nissan collected opinions and perceptions of the local public in order to find out what people thought about the production of its new crossover, the Nissan Kicks. On this particular occasion, Nissan will be presenting the Frontier Attack in Buenos Aires, a more robust and equipped version, designed taking into account the terrain of the region, to find out what people think about possible local production.

The Attack version of the Frontier is a pickup concept designed completely in Latin America and developed by Nissan's design center in Rio de Janeiro. Its designers were inspired by "Monster Trucks" and designed the Frontier Attack to create a pickup with a completely provocative attitude.

Features include black mask headlights, running boards, bars and luggage rack that bear the name of the vehicle, and gray wing mirrors. It also bears the version name on the side, the painted 16-inch tires and the rear chrome fender.

In its interior, the Nissan Frontier Attack has gray appliques on the central panel, and leather seats and steering wheel, depending on the version.

The future of crossovers is here thanks to Nissan Gripz

Another of the outstanding novelties of Nissan at the International Automobile Hall will be the Nissan Gripz, conceived from a revolutionary idea in compact sports crossovers designed for a new generation. It has been inspired by classic vehicles that compete in African rallies and sports bikes.

It is based on the "emotional geometry" language of Nissan and incorporates four key design features already included in the Nissan Sway, one of the stars at the 2015 Auto Show in Geneva. As with the Sway, the Gripz has a V-shaped grille, boomerang-shaped headlights and rear lights, a floating roof and a separated C pillar.

Created jointly by Nissan's European Design Center in London and its Global Design Center in Japan, the exterior of the Nissan Gripz Concept goes back to the concept of "emotional geometry" in bodywork design that creates a strong contrast between surfaces that are also dynamic and smooth.

The Nissan Gripz Concept is fitted with a hybrid-electrical drive system in series, an innovative prototype based on electric vehicles (EV). It has an efficient gasoline engine that drives the electric engine inherited from the Nissan LEAF.

The aim of the visible carbon elements is to accentuate lines, for example, the boomerang shape of the front doors. The Nissan Gripz Concept has four dihedral doors that open outwards and upwards, while the rear doors are hinged at the back and are smaller. It does not have a B pillar, which provides easier access to the interior configured for two occupants.

The Gripz, which will be on show at the Buenos Aires Automobile Hall, is an example of the innovative future of the segment, today.

Nissan EnGuard Concept

This all-terrain vehicle is based on the architecture of the popular Nissan NP300 Frontier pickup and has been designed for the most extreme of conditions. It is an electrical-driven rescue vehicle for use in emergency situations.

The pickup concept includes several design features and performance enhancements and vital equipment for emergency and rescue work in the event of disasters. It is also fitted with a state-of-the-art drone that gathers important information on the dangers that rescue teams may face.

It also has portable batteries designed and developed by Nissan based on the proven technology of the electric Nissan LEAF.

Nissan EnGuard includes many features that are extremely useful in emergency situations, including the NissanConnect satellite navigation system for finding the quickest route, dual-zone air conditioning and heated seats to increase passenger comfort.

The innovative monitor with a 360-degree view – a camera that produces an image of what is above and around the vehicle on the dashboard – is the ideal tool for rescue teams, as it affords the facility to negotiate all types of rough terrain without having to get out of the vehicle to reconnoiter.

As with the traditional NP300 Frontier, it is manufactured based on a resistant ladder frame chassis, although it also includes a new high-performance, totally adjustable suspension system with reinforced nylon bushings to improve its all-terrain capability.

Color options and their location were very much taken into account while the vehicle was being developed, with particular attention being paid to its rescue function. For example, research carried out by Nissan showed that fluorescent green is the most visible color during the day and is also the color that is most easily perceived by people who have problems in seeing or recognizing colors. When used on wheels and running boards, it can easily be seen when illuminated by the headlights of other vehicles.

The elegance of perfection: the Nissan Murano

Launched in Argentina at the beginning of the year, the third generation of Nissan's crossover has been designed based on its concept car, the Resonance. With a car style concept, the Nissan Murano redefines the standard for crossovers in the region, based on the brand cornerstone of "innovation that excites," thereby reestablishing its competitive position in the crossover market and underlining its commitment to Argentina.

The new crossover has an eye-catching exterior design, and offers an advanced driving experience and practical and intuitive technology. Maintaining the company's idea of driving in the future, the designers have created a gravitational effect to attract the visual attention of customers, while at the same time defying gravity with a lightness of form created using glass and lines in motion.

The exclusive "social lounge" interior of the Murano creates a cozy and comfortable environment and incorporates the latest technology. It is equipped with the Nissan's Advanced Drive Assist™ system that affords the driver a feeling of safety and connectivity thanks to its 7-inch, high-resolution color screen. Audio technology includes Premium Bose® with iPod Ready, USB, AUX, 11 speakers, an 8-inch color screen and Bluetooth®.

Nissan's advanced zero-gravity seats, both front and rear, are a standard feature. Other interior features include automatic dual-zone temperature control and the Nissan Intelligent Key® (ikey®) with remote engine ignition and a programmable seat, mirror and steering wheel memory. The car's intelligent key memorizes the configuration of different people and sets positions accordingly.

Sentra, with rejuvenated design and technology

Ever since it was introduced to Latin America, the Nissan Sentra, the company's compact sedan, has undergone a major evolution and its sales and market share has increased substantially, making it one of the fastest growing cars in the Nissan passenger range.

The 2017 Nissan Sentra has been substantially redesigned, starting with a renewed exterior and new driving and safety technology.

The renewed interior has a more sporty design, including the steering wheel inspired by the Nissan 370Z. There's also a new instrument panel and central dashboard, as well as a redesigned console, gear shift and seat material.

The instrument panel includes a new 5-inch LCD TFT screen with enhanced resolution and Advanced Drive-Assist Display (ADAD) that facilitates interaction of the vehicle with its surroundings. It is located between the tachometer and the speedometer and is based on the Advance version.

Nissan compacts

The complete range of compacts is also on display at the Nissan stand where visitors can see the latest design of the Versa, the innovative Note hatchback and the March automatic.

Nissan entered the compact market in May 2013 with the March. Following its success with its five-door hatchback, Nissan decided to launch the Versa compact sedan the following year.

Nissan renewed the March Active in 2014 and the Versa in 2015 and then launched the new Nissan Note.

Activities during the event

In addition to the presentation of its entire range of products and new lines, the star of the event will undoubtedly be the Nissan Kicks with its advanced technology that Nissan will only too be keen to show off.

In the 4x2 area, Nissan fans will be able to put the new Nissan Kicks through its paces, and in the 4x4 area, the NP300 Frontier pickup will no doubt continue proving that it is "ready for anything." As Nissan and technology go hand in hand, the stand will have a virtual reality attraction where car fans can enjoy a 360-degree experience with the new Nissan Kicks.
