Nissan will display various technologies which represent Nissan's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions, a priority in the Nissan Green Program 2010, and promoting a sustainable mobility society. Nissan's sustainable mobility strategy consists of two pillars – 'Zero Emission' and 'PURE DRIVE' – both of which will be presented through the display of environmental technologies, panels, and presentations. One highlight will be the display of the all new, 100% electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF, which will also be available for test-drives by visitors. The Nissan LEAF was launched in Japan on December 3, 2010 and will be available in stores nationwide from December 20, 2010.

In the Zero-Emission zone, Nissan's efforts to realize a zero-emission mobility society will be presented through a 'Smart House', incorporating Nissan LEAF and EV batteries, a diorama of a future city with EVs, and a Nissan LEAF quarter-size cut model to show the mechanisms of the vehicle.

In the PURE DRIVE zone, advanced green technologies enabling class-leading fuel efficient solutions, will be presented through various displays and panels. In addition to the display of the Idling Stop system for the new March and the cut model of the new Fuga's hybrid system, visitors can try the Eco-drive Navigator function installed in the new Serena.

Exhibition details are as follows:
<Exhibition Overview>

  1. Vehicles and Technologies
    • Zero-Emission Area
      • Nissan LEAF
Nissan LEAF was launched on December 3, 2010 in Japan, and is the world's first mass-marketed and affordable EV. Nissan LEAF delivers a unique driving experience, redefining and setting new standards in handling and linear-feeling acceleration. With a driving range of 200 km (JC08 mode), the vehicle will satisfy the daily needs of most drivers. Spacious enough to accommodate five adults and with quietness comparable with luxury vehicles, comfort has not been compromised. Nissan LEAF also offers customers with a completely new set of values through its advanced IT system.
      • Smart House
'Smart House', with a next-generation electricity management system installed with Nissan LEAF, expresses the advent of a zero-emission mobility society where renewable energy is used. A presentation using Nissan LEAF will be given.
      • Quarter-size chassis
A quarter-size chassis, which shows both the structure of the dedicated platform and how the electricity flows in Nissan LEAF, will be displayed. With easy-to-use buttons and a monitor for explanation, visitors can operate the display and learn more about EVs.
      • Battery
A cut model of the high-capacity lithium-ion battery used in Nissan LEAF, which shows the structure of the cells and the module, will be displayed.
      • Recycle
A sample of recycled materials for parts and components (such as the bumper and seat cloth) used for Nissan LEAF, which achieves a recoverability rate of 99%, will be displayed. Explanatory panels will be shown as well to inform visitors of Nissan LEAF's recycle efforts.
      • Diorama
A diorama of a future city with EVs will be displayed. In this diorama, visitors can see what a future city with EVs would look like, including quick charging stations at shopping centers, special driving lanes for EVs, and a power plant using renewable energy sources.
    • PURE DRIVE Area: Technology display
      • HR12DE engine cut model
Combining a 1.2L 3-cylinder HR12DE engine providing both excellent fuel economy and outstanding torque performance with a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary gearbox, the new March achieves a 25% improvement in fuel economy over 2010 standards.
      • 'Intelligent Dual Clutch Control' hybrid system cut model
Fuga Hybrid adopts Nissan's original one-motor two-clutch parallel hybrid system named 'Intelligent Dual Clutch Control.' As it can completely disconnect the motor from the engine which is an obstacle during motor driving or decelerating, excellent energy efficiency is realized with more efficient motor driving (on EV mode) and energy regeneration during decelerating. Also installed is a lithium-ion battery with a quick charge/discharge function, helping Fuga Hybrid achieve best-in-class*1 fuel economy as the engine stops more frequently through high-speed, precise motor control.
*1: 4-door sedan with over 3.0 liter engine. (According to Nissan, as of October, 2010)
      • Eco-drive Navigator experience
The Eco-drive Navigator function supports eco-drive by showing how strong the accelerator pedal should be pressed for better fuel efficiency in an easy-to-understand and intuitive way, in order to reduce excessive fuel consumption at the time of acceleration or deceleration. Visitors can enjoy eco-drive with this function.
  2. Eco-car Test Ride Event
Nissan LEAF test ride event for visitors will be held.
