SUPER GT Rd. 6 was held at Fuji Speedway (4.563km) on Sunday, September 25 and #3 G'ZOX HASEMI Z(Toshihiro Kaneishi/ Erik Comas) which started the race from 8th place finished 4th after once dropping position to 18th and recovering from the fierce pursuit. For the series title, #1Xanavi NISMO Z(Satoshi Motoyama /Richard Lyons) is now 3rd and #22Motul Pitwork Z(Michael Krumm/ Masataka Yanagida) 5th, both still competitive for the title.

Although the forecast strongly insisted of the foul weather due to the effect of typhoon Saola, 44,800 spectators gathered to watch the race. The formation lap started from 2:05pm under strong wind blowing, and the race of 66 laps began shortly. #3 Z with Kaneishi started the race from 8th place and had a light contact at the first corner while the car was mixed in a group of cars. As it returned to track, another contact occurred and was shot off to the grass. Luckily, with not much damage, the car returned to track but lost position to 18th place. Kaneishi continued the strong pursuit and on lap 4 he recovered one position to 17th, to 14th on lap11 and to 12th on lap 16. On lap31, the car was provisionally 4th place when it was handed over to Comas and he made further pursuit to over take other cars. Comas improved lap time to make further attempt to over take, and on lap58, his car scored the fastest lap and by the end of the race, the gap between the #6 Supra in 3rd place was only 3 seconds.

#1 Z is aiming to make back to back to back championship, and Satoshi Motoyama started the race from 11th place. The car returned in 9th place after the first lap, but with much handicap weight, the car was too heavy to improve positions. On the contrary, the car lost a position on lap8, 21 and 24. The car returned to pit on lap31 and handed the wheel over to Richard Lyons. Lyons once took 7th place but let #36 Supra take the lead on lap48 and on lap50, allowed the team mate #22 Z take their position. Motoyama & Lyons finished the race in 10th place and by scoring a point, the car kept 3rd place in the championship.

Masataka Yanagida on #22 started the race from 10th place, and finished the first lap promoting to 8th. With clean and powerful drive, he kept the pursuit of the top cars. On lap 11, he was overtaken by #35 Supra but continued to keep up without much gap. On lap23, another Supra #25 went ahead, but still managed to keep 10th place when he handed the car over to Krumm on lap28. Krumm was now in charge of the last 37 laps, and after keeping 9th place for a while, the car lost a position when #36 Supra over took them. But on lap 50, taking the position of the team mate #1 Z the car finished the race in 9th place With 2 more points scored, Krumm & Yanagida were now in 5th place in the championship after the two drivers of #1 Z. #12 Calsonic Impul Z(Benoit Treluyer / Yuji Ide) started the race from 12th and finished 13th.

[Quote from Hiroshi Degawa]
"We are so glad the two NISMO cars didn't finish with any points! At least, this leaves us being a runner-up for the championship. Autopolis is a better match for Z, and with less weight now we should aim for further points and aim to challenge for at the final round in Suzuka We are very grateful of the fans support. The whole NISMO teams are encouraged so much by the cheers of our supporters!"

[Quote from Erik Comas, the driver of #3 G'ZOX HASEMI Z]
"I think I was finally able have a good race after a long time. I really enjoyed this race. I am 100% happy with this result. Being 4th place is worth more to us than winning the race. The car was great and our engineer made the perfect choice of tires."
