- Nissan LEAF will be on display, coupled with the Electric Power Supply System "LEAF to Home" to support the exhibition booth's lighting.

YOKOHAMA, Japan (December 04, 2012) Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the exhibition overview for "Eco-Products 2012 (Sponsored by: Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry (JEMAI) and Nikkei Inc)" which is Japan's largest environmental exhibition to take place at Tokyo Big Sight from December 13 - 15, 2012.

Nissan's booth will be a place to experience, view displays and presentations on how electric vehicles (EVs) contribute to the energy issues of society by focusing on electric supply technology that utilizes batteries of EVs. The promotion of zero-emission vehicles is one of the pillars of Nissan Green Program 2016 (NGP 2016), Nissan's mid-term comprehensive environmental action plan.
Nissan believes that the realization of a zero-emission society is key for the future of our children, and that understanding the current situation and taking necessary action are essential to energy and environmental issues. Nissan will feature an open classroom called "Nissan Waku-Waku Eco School" with a focus on upper grades of elementary school, where students will have the opportunity to learn about utilization of electricity storage capabilities of EVs, through model EV assembly experience and a diorama embodying smart communities of future cities.
At the same time, the lighting in the Nissan booth during the exhibition will be powered through the "LEAF to Home" system that utilizes the stored electricity in the battery of Nissan LEAF to power lighting, which contributes to shifting the peak usage hours of electricity demand during the day.
Nissan exhibit and Eco-Products 2012 outline:
1. Vehicle and technology display
The Nissan LEAF has received praise from customers for its environmental features as a zero-emission vehicle that does not emit any exhaust gas such as CO2. It also offers excellent performance and driving feel, with smooth, strong and quiet acceleration across a speed range comparable to luxury models, as well as showing great handling stability realized by a well-balanced weight distribution.
Electric Power Supply System "LEAF to Home" is the world's first system that supplies electricity stored in the large capacity battery used for driving, to conventional homes. The electric power stored in the Nissan LEAF contributes to electricity consumption during peak shifts. It can also be used as a backup energy source for black outs and emergency situations.
Nissan New Mobility Concept is a 100% electric vehicle that was developed in response to rising numbers of senior citizens and single-member households, along with increasing use of automobiles for short-distance trips by up to two people.
A new diorama was created this year, and combined with the model EV built in the "Nissan Waku-Waku Eco School", this diorama depicts a smart community that uses EVs as an electrical power source. By connecting the model EV to this diorama to light up the homes, buildings and facilities in the diorama, students can experiencing a fun town that could be independent in terms of energy.
2. Nissan Waku-Waku Eco School
A program which was independently developed and run by Nissan R&D department since 2008, this open classroom teaches the unique characteristics of EVs by using a EV model kit and see how EVs can generate, store or supply electricity.

3. Eco-car text ride experience
Nissan is providing a Nissan LEAF for the eco-car test ride experience program that is held by the organizer of this event.
