Nissan production, sales, export results for September and the six months period from April to September 2011

YOKOHAMA, Japan (October 26, 2011) -Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced its production, sales and export figures for September and the six months from April to September, 2011.

1. Production
September

Nissan's global production in September increased 11.6% year-on-year to 441,433 units, marking an all-time record for a single month.

Production in Japan decreased 6.7% year-on-year to 112,127 units, despite increased exports of Juke, Rogue and Murano, mainly due to a reaction to the end of the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Production outside of Japan increased 19.5% year-on-year to 329,306 units, marking an all-time record for the month of September.

In the U.S., production increased 4.8% year-on-year to 50,195 units, mainly due to increased demand for Altima.

In Mexico, production increased 28.9% year-on-year to 58,395 units, due to increased demand for the new March and the new Versa.

In the U.K., production increased 6.3% year-on-year to 45,048 units, mainly due to increased demand for Juke.

In Spain, production increased 62.6% year-on-year to 16,850 units, mainly due to increased demand for Primastar.

In China, production increased 19.0% year-on-year to 113,574 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Sunny, Tiida and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for a single month.

Production in other regions increased 32.5% year-on-year to 45,244 units, mainly due to increased demand for March/Micra and the new Almera/Sunny in Thailand and India.

April-September
Nissan's global production in the April to September period increased 11.5% year-on-year to 2,251,994 units, marking a record high for the April-September period.

In Japan, domestic production decreased 6.1% year-on-year to 539,798 units, despite increased demand for Juke, and Rogue for export, due to effects of the earthquake on March 11 and a reaction to the end of the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Production outside of Japan increased 18.4% year-on-year to 1,712,196 units, marking a record high for the April-September period.

Production increased at all overseas production sites compared to the prior year. In China, production increased 19.4% year-on-year to 607,244 units, marking an all-time record for the April-September period.

Production in other regions, mainly Thailand, India and Brazil, increased 43.1% year-on-year to 238,139 units.

2. Sales
September

Global sales increased 17.1% year-on-year to 446,785 units, marking an all-time record for the month of September.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 68,092 units in Japan, down 5.8% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in September decreased 7.7% year-on-year to 53,418 units, despite increased demand for Juke and Serena, mainly due to a reaction to the increased production of Elgrand as part of its full remodeling in August 2010.

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles increased 1.9% year-on-year to 14,674 units, due to increased demand for Moco, marking an all-time record for the month of September.

Sales outside of Japan increased 22.5% year-on-year to 378,693 units, marking an all-time record for the month of September.

Sales in the U.S. increased 25.3% year-on-year to 92,964 units, due to increased demand for Versa, Altima and Rogue, and additional sales of Juke.

In Europe, sales increased 31.0% year-on-year to 73,713 units, due to favorable sales in Russia and additional sales of Juke.

In China, sales increased 20.9% year-on-year to 117,712 units, due to increased demand for the new Sunny, Tiida and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for a single month.

Sales in other regions increased 16.1% year-on-year to 67,146 units, mainly due to increased demand in Brazil and Indonesia.

April-September
Global sales increased 10.8% year-on-year to 2,236,403 units, marking a record high for the April-September period.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 282,630 units in Japan, down 14.0% year-on-year, due to effects of the earthquake on March 11 and a reaction to the end of the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

In Japan, vehicle registrations decreased 14.9% year-on-year to 219,544 units, despite increased demand for Juke and Lafesta Highway Star.

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles decreased 10.7% year-on-year to 63,086 units.

Sales outside of Japan increased 15.6% year-on-year to 1,953,773 units, marking a record high for the April-September period.

Sales increased in the U.S., Europe, China and other regions. In China, sales increased 19.0% year-on-year to 608,845 units, marking an all-time record for the April-September period.

Sales in other regions increased 12.7% year-on-year to 363,270 units, mainly due to increased demand in Thailand, Indonesia, India and Brazil.

3. Japan Exports
September

Nissan's exports in September increased 16.2% year-on-year to 78,878 units.

Exports to North America increased 5.5% year-on-year to 42,120 units, mainly due to increased demand for Rogue and Murano.

Exports to Europe increased 57.6% year-on-year to 12,228 units, mainly due to increased demand for Juke and X-Trail.

April-September
Nissan's exports increased 4.1% year-on-year to 340,986 units.

Exports to North America increased 11.0% year-on-year to 189,355 units, mainly due to increased demand for Rogue and Juke.

Exports to Europe increased 36.0% year-on-year to 54,032 units, mainly due to increased demand for Juke and X-Trail.
