Nissan Brand Set for 2008 Launch in Korea

Carmaker Will Introduce Rogue, Murano, Altima Models

SEOUL(Oct. 9, 2007) – After introducing its luxury Infiniti automotive brand here two years ago, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML), Japan, has unveiled plans to bring the Nissan brand to Korea one year later. The move was announced at a recent press conference here.

“Infiniti has performed extremely well in the Korean market, rapidly becoming one of the leading luxury brands,” said Colin Dodge, Senior Vice President, General Overseas Market, NML. “With growing demand for import cars, it is the optimal time to introduce the Nissan brand. Korean customers have a keen appreciation of excellent design and quality while demanding top-notch service and competitive pricing. We believe our ability to deliver in all these areas will make the Nissan brand very successful here.”

The first Nissan models to be introduced in Korea will be the crossover Rogue, the mid-size Murano SUV, and the Altima.

According to Gregory Phillips, president of Nissan Korea Ltd., a separate project team analyzed the preferences of Korean customers to prepare for the introduction of the Nissan brand. “We will be able to use our success with the Infiniti brand as a guide in helping to make Nissan one of the leading brands in the Korean market,” Phillips said.

Nissan Korea Ltd. plans to set up a dedicated dealer network for the Nissan brand and will begin dealer selection in coming months.

Nissan is a leading global automotive company. Its operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing. Nissan currently has manufacturing sites in Japan, United States, Untied Kingdom, Spain, Mexico, China, South Africa, Thailand, Egypt, etc. and the sales volume of Nissan brand vehicles in the world for the fiscal year 2006 exceeded 3.5 million vehicles. Nissan currently employs 182,273 people worldwide.
