HAINAN, CHINA (April 20, 2006)--Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, a unit of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., today released the new Teana luxury sedan for the Chinese market.
Dongfeng Nissan also announced that the Teana has been selected as the official 2006 vehicle of the Boao Forum for Asia, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of regional cooperation among Asian countries.
The new Teana, which inherits the sophistication and dynamism of its predecessor, is equipped with Nissan Motor Co.'s XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Combined with Nissan's powerful 3.5-liter VQ35DE V6 engine, the result is smoother acceleration, as well as improved fuel economy and driving comfort.
The interior has been upgraded for even more luxury and comfort, including the installation of an Ottoman in the front-passenger seat.
The exterior features a newly-designed rear bumper and all-new LED rear-combination lamps.
The Teana was first released in China in September 2004 and has sold almost 10,000 units since. In 2005, the vehicle won China's "Car of the Year" award.
