Nissan will showcase the company's developing automotive technologies which support mobility in the future, focusing on the environment and safety. Visitors will experience examples of Nissan's innovation through interactive displays and demonstrations. A model of Nissan's new electric vehicle, Nissan LEAF, will be on display for the first time on the continent of Africa. A kids' corner provides child-relevant activities to make this a family-friendly experience for the public.

South Africa joins other major world economies like Australia, India, Dubai and Korea in staging the Technology Square.

"We are delighted to host the Nissan Technology Square in South Africa," said Mike Whitfield, Managing Director of Nissan South Africa. "Through this exhibition we aim to convey Nissan's enthusiasm for research and development with our stakeholders in this region."

Whitfield added, "Aside from being an automotive company, Nissan also has a role as a citizen of society, to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. We are aiming to increase awareness and interest in environmentally-friendly technologies, and we believe a major attraction will be the first mass-market 100% electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf, which we hope to introduce at some stage in the country."
