Nissan production, sales and export results for October 2016

YOKOHAMA, Japan (November 25, 2016) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for October 2016.

1. Production
October
Nissan's global production in October increased 7.8 percent year-on-year to 518,963 units, the ninth consecutive month of increase and a record for a single month.

Production in Japan increased 36.6 percent year-on-year to 95,490 units, the third consecutive month of increase.

Production outside Japan increased 2.9 percent year-on-year to 423,473 units, the eighteenth consecutive month of increase and a record for a single month.

In the U.S., production decreased 1.2 percent year-on-year to 91,620 units.

In Mexico, production decreased 3.5 percent year-on-year to 80,144 units.

In the U.K., production decreased 0.5 percent year-on-year to 45,837 units.

In Spain, production increased 41.1 percent year-on-year to 11,045 units.

In China, production increased 9.4 percent year-on-year to 128,118 units, a record for the month of October.

Production in other regions increased 3.1 percent year-on-year to 66,709 units.

 

2. Sales
October

Global sales increased 4.5 percent year-on-year to 450,104 units, the third consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of October.

Japan:
Sales including mini-vehicles decreased 0.3 percent year-on-year to 38,708 units.

  • Vehicle registrations increased 6.1 percent year-on-year to 27,023 units.
  • Mini-vehicle sales decreased 12.7 percent year-on-year to 11,685 units.

Sales outside Japan increased 5.0 percent year-on-year to 411,396 units, a record for the month of October.

In the U.S., sales decreased 2.2 percent year-on-year to 113,520 units.

In Mexico, sales increased 10.3 percent year-on-year to 35,831 units, a record high for the month of October.

In Europe, sales increased 4.1 percent year-on-year to 56,387 units.

In China, sales increased 16.1 percent year-on-year to 127,154 units, a record high for the month of October.

3. Exports from Japan
October

Exports in October increased 21.2 percent year-on-year to 51,618 units, the sixth consecutive month of increase.
